No glass slipper, fairy godmother, or pumpkin that turned into a crystal coach. Just two high school sweethearts whose love became a fairy tale. Juan and Amanda Mattioli both grew up watching Disney classics and similar Disney Channel shows, but never could’ve imagined that their wedding would one day be inspired by the message at the heart of Cinderella - “Dreams Do Come True.”

They were Disney fans from an early age, so it’s only fitting that Juan popped the question beneath the picturesque gazebo in the Rose Court Garden on their six year anniversary. After Amanda searched all over San Diego for the perfect venue, she stumbled upon the Disney wedding website and fell in love with the idea of getting married in the exact spot where Juan proposed. The significance and symbolism of the location added yet another layer of magic to their big day, May 18, 2018.

Juan and Amanda worked incredibly hard and even saved for a year and a half to make their dreams a reality. They collaborated with a Disney Fairy Tale Weddings coordinator to choose decor, menu options, entertainment and a reception venue. They chose the breathtaking Sleeping Beauty Pavilion - its natural light and show-stopping chandelier provided the perfect backdrop for a joyous celebration with family and friends.

Our photographer Ruben was able to capture countless beautiful moments, giving Juan, Amanda and their families a chance to relive the day for years to come. In Juan and Amanda’s own words, “We worked really hard to make our wedding come true and have been through a few hardships along the way...to have it become a reality meant the world to us. It is a memory that we will cherish forever.”

Although their day was impossibly near perfection, they have one regret...not booking the Cinderella Coach. However, they are thinking about doing a first anniversary shoot at Disneyland. This seems like the perfect time to bring in the coach or take pictures with their favorite characters, Donald Duck and Belle. We’ll let you guess which one of them likes which character!
